Mandarin Program Staff Development

To ensure the quality of the Piedmont Unified School District Mandarin Program, our faculty is committed to ongoing learning in the areas of foreign-language teaching pedagogy, curriculum and materials development, and childhood learning. To these ends, faculty are supported through the FLAP grant to attend professional training workshosp and conferences.

In the summer of 2005, Ms. Yu and Ms. Lei attended conferences, workshops, and visited schools in Beijing and Shanghai with 100 Mandarin teachers from the United States and China.

In November 2005, Ms. Yu, Ms. Lei, Ms. Castagnozzi, and Ms. Olson attended the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Conference.
